Keynote Speaker: BRIAN BOYLE, Athlete, Professional Speaker
'Through the Eyes of the Patient: The Brian Boyle Story'
Brian Boyle was in a horrific car crash in 2004 that left him in a medically-induced coma for two months. He lost 100 pounds, and doctors predicted he might never walk again. Just three years later, Brian staged what many consider to be one of the greatest comebacks in sports history when he crossed the finish line at the Hawaii Iron Man Competition. He has since competed in many athletic events and has been featured by Men's Health Magazine, The Today Show and ESPN for his incredible story. He accredits his healthcare providers for his success in both physical healing and in spirit and uses this type of forum to bring his message of unmitigated appreciation to all departments of all hospitals for their often 'unsung' heroes behind the scenes. Brian published his first book in 2009 and in 2010 made a blood donation at the hospital that brought him back to life. His journey of courage and determination has touched the hearts of many and his story and the message it carries has been celebrated around the world.
